The West Kootenay Camera Club Photo Show is an annual juried event of photographic art for both members and non-members alike. Each of the nine categories holds a ribbon for First, Second and Third place. The judges for the Photo Show are qualified by taking a judging course; they come from varied backgrounds in both photography and the world of art, mostly from B.C. and American camera clubs.

The Photo Show takes place each year at the Kootenay Gallery during Castlegar's Sunfest. The winning images are displayed with their respective ribbons and all entries are hung with the scores and comments given by the jury of judges.

During the exhibition an added attraction is the Loonie Prize for the public and the People's Choice Award for the winning photographer. The public is invited to buy a ticket and choose their favourite image at the show. When the show is over, a ticket is drawn and the owner of the ticket wins a framed original photograph by one of the members in the club. The photographer with the most votes is the winner of the People's Choice Award.
