The Kootenay Festival Planning Committee (a subcommittee of the Castlegar Cultural Advisory Committee) is a dedicated group of individuals with a passionate interest and commitment to promoting local arts and culture within the Kootenay region through the organization and management of the Kootenay Festival event held annually in Castlegar. Their combined experience builds an impressive list of involvement with organizing and executing successful events at both the local and provincial levels, and each member brings their own unique abilities, knowledge and enthusiasm to the many varying facets of festival organization.

The committee meets regularly and welcomes new members with interest, ideas or experience in arts/cultural events, volunteer coordination, budget control, risk management/protocol, food concession management, electrical/equipment, fundraising/sponsorship or child/youth activities.
