Castlegar Friends of Parks and Trails Society (2001) is a federally-registered charity and provincially registered society; Society number is S-0043609. We are a local group of volunteers who appreciate hiking and biking and have the legal capacity to enter into such agreements. We have a license of occupation for Dove Hill and hold an easement for portions of the Waldie Island Trail. We also have stewardship agreements with the province for Merry Creek, Mel DeAnna and Brilliant Overlook recreation sites and trails, as well as stewardship agreements with Teck Metals and the Union of Spiritual Communities of Christ for trails passing through their private land. We receive much of our funding from local municipalities.
