Castlegar Garden Club

The Castlegar Garden Club was founded in 1996, but began unofficially five years earlier by a group of avid gardeners gathering around a kitchen table. Bob Switzer (1915-2007) provided the original spark.

The Castlegar Garden Club is a social club that meets monthly, every 3rd Wednesday 6:30-9:00 p.m. from October through May at the Castlegar & District Community Complex. We are Garden enthusiasts wanting to enhance and share our knowledge of Gardening and Nature through talks and demonstrations by Garden Club members and Guest Speakers. We enjoy coffee and goodies while conducting our business part of the meeting. From June through September, same date and time, meetings are held in a volunteered members' garden; appreciating their garden, surrounding area and sharing ideas over a potluck.

The club is engaged in the following activities; Plant Sale, Garden and Nature Fest, Adopt a Road, and Garden Tour. We also support local causes, judge the flowers at the Pass Creek Fall Fair as well as provide flowers for our unique 'Blossoms for Biffies' at the Pass Creek Fair Ground events.

New members are always welcome.
