The West Kootenay Camera Club is alive and well, serving camera enthusiasts for over 20 years. The club was originated by local photography hobbyists Ken Ferch and Kevin Underwood in 1989. Digital cameras have brought a huge increase of interest in the photographic arts over the last 10 years. The club at present has about 45 members residing in an area encompassing Lardeau, Nelson, Castlegar, Rossland, Trail and the Beaver Valley. Membership has always included beginners as well as advanced photographers. There is a sharing of knowledge in order to become more skilled photographers, make better use of photographic equipment and produce quality images.
