Castlegar's annual Art Walk runs from late June to mid-September. This successful partnership between business and the arts has fostered a real focus on the arts in our Kootenay communities, attracting visitors and showing them what we are all about.

The call for artists goes out each January, with a late March deadline. The artists are then matched with local businesses as venues. A colourful one-of-a-kind Art Walk brochure advertising artists, venues and other local attractions is distributed to Tourist Information Centres throughout the Kootenays, as well as to other towns and communities which sponsor Art Walks. Beautiful Art Walk street banners are displayed throughout Castlegar in July and August letting visitors know Castlegar's Art Walk stretches from one end of the downtown to the uptown and even across the Columbia River.
